Made from scratch: Basic pancakes

Pancakes have been my all-time favorite snack to munch on. Whether you have it for breakfast or as an evening snack- you'll savor them. The best way to eat pancakes is while they are hot and with a side of fruits. Without further ado, let's get straight to this healthy and oil-free recipe-

Ingredients -

1 cup of milk. (236 ml)
A tablespoon of olive oil.
An egg(if you don't eat eggs, use 2 pinches of baking soda instead)
1 cup of all-purpose flour (maida)
2 pinches of baking powder.
3 1/2  tablespoons of sugar. (as per your taste)

Note- The amount of batter specified in this recipe will make 4-5 medium sized pancakes which may serve 1-2 people.

Step 1 - Take a bowl. Crack an egg and whisk it. Whisking is essential, it gives you fluffier pancakes. Add sugar, milk, olive oil, and mix until well combined

Step 2 - Sieve all the dry ingredients either one after the other or all together. Mix all the ingredients until no lumps. You want your batter to be runny and not thick. You can add a dash of milk if you find it thick.

Step 3 - Place a nonstick pan on the stove(If you don't have one, you'll have to spread a bit of olive oil over the pan you're using so the pancakes don't stick to the surface). Flame the pan to medium heat. Leave the flame on medium throughout the process. Pour a ladle full of batter and let it spread. Wait till you see light bubbles on top and then carefully flip it. Cook the other side for about a minute. Repeat the process.

Step 4 - Toppings like honey, maple syrup, chocolate syrup, whipped cream or fresh fruits can be served with pancakes.Eat while they're hot so DIG IN!!

Until next time,
PEACE♡
